dc.description.abstract The purpose of this article is to prepare a methodological basis for characterizing the political culture of the Moldovan society in the era of democratic transition. The new model of stratification of the Moldovan society is determined by the peculiarities and realities of the Republic of Moldova and determines the specificity of political culture. The system of «facade democracy» characterizes the political life of the Republic of Moldova and is a reflection, in a specific national form, of the global processes of movement towards postdemocracy. Understanding the place and the role of political culture in the formation of the system of democracy and in the political life of society will reveal the interdependence between the level of development of political culture and the success of the processes of democratic transition, and determine the effectiveness of the functioning of the political system in the country. en
