Abstract:
Several decades ago, there was a lack of communication and PR in the NGO field. Nowadays, the things changed globally. NGOs are seeking for new ways and resources to increase the awareness level of different issues and their visibility. Due to the changes in the global context, especially in the communication and IT field, a PR specialist has inherited many other roles. This study examined an emerging area of PR – PR for NGOs and nongovernmental projects. In this study, it’s shown how NGOs would benefit greatly by dedicating more time and other resources for the exploration of new media, communication with the media, publicity and crowdfunding as an alternative way of fundraising.
