Abstract:
This research paper highlights, performs the analysis and makes the classification of the pragmatic adaptation methods and procedures used in the translation of children's literature, especially as found in the novel "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H. Porter. The paper also defines the concept of children's literature and identifies its special features; determines the literary genres and styles accessible to children based on the scientific researches provided by the specialty literature, identifies the translation procedures and methods of pragmatic adaptation, quantifies the frequency of appearance of these methods and also analyzes their efficiency.
