Abstract:
Academic discourse researched from a pragmatic perspective has become an actual
subject, through its role and impact on the development of society. Researchers’ different approach to
academic discourse in terms of communicative segmentation produces discussions and interpretations. Regarding the communicative segmentation of discourse at the level of statement through phonetic, lexical and syntactic means, some studies have been developed, but in this article we intend to
define the term communicative segmentation at the level of statement, communicative segmentation
at the level of text, to determine the informational structure of academic discourse according to the
principle of theme-rhyme structuring.
