dc.description.abstract	The actuality of the research theme is also determined by the commercial banks' requirements to increase the bank performance indicators. In the present paper we have proposed to specify the activities of commercial banks in the Republic of Moldova, the trends of development and the search for new ways of making the business more efficient by which banks can achieve higher stability by maintaining an acceptable and properly managed risk. In the context of the actuality of the theme, the aim of the paper was formulated in studying the role and the appearance of commercial banks in the world and on the current territory of the Republic of Moldova, the analysis of the regulatory framework governing the activity of the commercial bank in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the analysis of the banking activity through the activity of "Victoriabank" S.A.	en
