Abstract:
Three decades after the adoption of the independence of the Republic of Moldova and
32 years after the return to the Latin alphabet for the Romanian language used in this state, the problem of the name and functioning of the Romanian language is still unresolved. The political authorities and the scientific community still maintain the duality of opinion and use this subject for party purposes and interests. The feelings of animosity between the representatives of different cohabiting ethnic groups on the territory of the Republic of Moldova are unnaturally fueled by the circulation of the notions “Moldovan / Moldovan / Moldovan” and “Romanian / Romanian / Romanian”. In the following article we have pointed out the most important moments in establishing this situation pursued
from the very beginning in order to denationalize the natives of the Prut-Dniester area.
