Abstract:
The present article analyzes the process of negotiations for solving the
Transnistrian conflict starting with 1992, stressing namely the negotiations in the format „5+2”. After signing the plan of Actions – the European Union – Republic of Moldova, the EU and USA agreed to participate at the negotiations as observers, by undertaking the new format „5+2”. The negotiations format „5+2” includes 2 parts – Republic of Moldova and Transnistria, two mediators – OSCE, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and observers – US and the European Union. Due to the lack of a politic will of these two sides implied in the conflict, and first of all from Russian Federation, the conflict is still not being solved until present times.
