The topic elucidated in this article uses essentially the empirical data of the sociological research „Reproductive
Behavior of Women in the Republic of Moldova” (2017). Thus, the article analyzes the perception of the ways of organizing
family life and their impact on the reproductive behavior based on five generations of women (1960, 1970, 1960, 1990,
and 2000) from the Republic of Moldova. A series of changes have occurred over the years in the institution of marriage
and family, which emphasize the tendency of the respondents to abandon traditional values and to accept modern/postmodern
values. The results of the research, however, allow us to conclude that the classical family, the traditional ways of establishing
family couples, remain the most strongly valued by the respondents. These conclusions also are argued by the results of
several sociological surveys with the topic „Preparing young people for family life”, conducted by the students of the
Department of Sociology and Social Work within the individual work at the courses Social Policies, Contemporary
Family: Changes in Models and Behaviors, Advanced Methods in Social Research, etc.
