Mănăstirea Hârbovăţ a fost zidită pe partea de sus a moşiei Hogineşti, ţinutul Orhei. Conform tradiţiei, iniţiativa
ctitoririi ar fi venit din partea călugărului Ioanichie, care a reuşit să-l convingă pe Ursache Carpuz, fiul lui Constantin
Carpuz, să susţină acest act. Momentul zidirii schitului Hârbovăţ urmează să fie amplasat în intervalul anilor 1712-1761,
anul superior reprezentând momentul când schitul, cu acordul şi suportul ctitorilor, a fost reconstruit sau, probabil,
extins.
The Hârbovăţ monastery was built on top of the Hogineşti domain, the Orhei land. The initiative to build the
monastery came from the monk called Ioanichie, who managed to convince Ursache Carpuz, the son of Constantin
Carpuz, to support this act. The Hârbovăţ hermitage was built in the chronological range of 1712-1761, the upper limit,
representing the time when the hermitage, with the agreement and support of the founders, was rebuilt or perhaps expanded.
