The content of this article reflects the problem that the Republic of Moldova is currently facing, namely the existence of the warehouse in Cobasna with obsolete, non-transportable ammunition and weaponry. In this way, ammunition represents the bearer of imminent danger for the ecological and humanitarian security of the Republic of Moldova. This problem is also facilitated by the fact that the Republic of Moldova has no access to Cobasna since 2004 and does not even have effective control over the territory where the ammunition depot is located. OSCE reports from 2000-2004 show that approximately 19-20 thousand tons of ammunition were withdrawn from Cobasna or were destroyed, with approximately 20-21 thousand tons remaining in stock.
