Abstract:
The article includes an analysis of the path of the local media from the Soviet
paradigm of functioning by regimentation in the ideological system of the Communist Party to
the media pattern of democratic societies. The author reveals that this journey in the case of the
Republic of Moldova in the last three decades has been intermittent, contradictory and
inconsistent, which, grosso modo, did not culminate in the enthronement of the media
pluralism. In this context, the current media area includes the characteristics of the partisanship
/ mercenary and the political pluralism as well.
