Abstract:
Based on knowledge, the information society is represented by the technological
progress that defines a new stage in the human civilization. The interconnectivity in the
online environment is a prerequisite, but also a way to access a new space, called cyber-space.
Therefore, new media is an absolute and pervasive force which imposed itself as
a power system with great influence, having a major impact on the psychological,
economic, political, cultural and educational life of the people. Its center of gravity, based
on active participation and open exchange of information and viral reproduction, refers
to: web 1.0 – web 4.0. The level of communication, its size and quality of information in
countries in transition are of major importance, represented by education and training
as key factors in the development and democratization of individuals, helping to foster
a sense of responsibility.
