Abstract:
This article aims to present some methodological aspects and principles of studying
the films from the historical point of view and using them as historical sources. The au-
thor characterizes the place of cinematography in the system of historical knowledge and
reveals the meaning of cultural products as a bridge in understanding the past. The key
objective of the present article is to prove that the films can be treated as historical sources.
The main thesis of our study is that the films reflect the realities of the times. Although they
are often qualified as a product of the imagination and opinion of their creators, by placing
them in context, their analysis can lead us to a better understanding of the historical proc-
esses and reveal different angles of the studied problems.
